Prof Frank N. T. Monsour AM RFD

B.D.Sc.(HON)(QLD), M.D.Sc.(QLD), PH.D.(QLD), F.R.A.C.D.S, F.A.D.I., F.I.C.D.

Professor Monsour has gained high acclaim within his Surgical discipline both nationally and internationally having led the Specialty of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery through Principal Medical Specialty recognition within Australia and New Zealand for many years. He was responsible for developing the Queensland Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Training Program and Hospital Units into internationally recognized training facilities. Additionally, he held appointments as Visiting Professor Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Nebraska during the 1970's for a period of three years.  He is currently recognised as ‘Clinical Professor’, Department of Surgery (University of Queensland). Professor Monsour has been bestowed recognition and honors during his career. For his University and wider community work and Cancer research he was awarded the Honorary title of 'Admiral of The Great Navy of the State of Nebraska by the Governor in 1976.For his leadership in Public Health in Queensland and Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, his name and achievements were selected for inclusion in the buried Time Capsule at the new Royal Brisbane/Women’s Hospital site in Brisbane. 'Prof. Monsour is registered as an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon (AHPRA) and was awarded Honorary Life Membership – Australian & New Zealand Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons (ANZAOMS)


Professor Monsour had an extended Military career that culminated in extended service as a senior "Colonel Consultant" within the Office of the Surgeon General, Australian Defence Force, and being awarded the Reserve Force Decoration (RFD).


For his services to the wider Australian community, Professor Monsour was awarded the high honor of an 'Order of Australia’ (AM).

Dr George Chu

M.B.B.S, B.D.Sc., F.R.A.C.D.S (OMS).

Dr Chu completed his surgical training in Queensland. He is a specialist Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon practicing all area of the speciality dealing with problems involving jaws, face and teeth. Dr Chu completed his dental and medical qualifications in Melbourne and Adelaide.


Prior to starting his maxillofacial surgical training, he spent 5 years full time in Emergency Medicine at a registrar level in several tertiary major Adelaide hospitals and 10 years’ experience as a dentist both private and public service in both Victoria and South Australia. During this period, he was also a tutor to undergraduate university students at the University of Adelaide which honed his clinical and academic teaching skills.


During advanced surgical training rotation through most of the major tertiary hospitals in Queensland, Dr Chu achieved and obtained the qualification of FRACDS (OMS) and is registered as an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with both the Australian Dental Board and Australian Medical Board (AHPRA). He is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (ANZAOMS).


Dr Chu provides the full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and brings warm, caring and empathy characters that readily connects with patient and colleagues. He has a strong philosophy in continual education, latest surgical innovations and commitment in providing the highest quality of surgical care for his patients. 


Dr Chu has a number of public appointments as a specialist surgeon at the Princess Alexandra Hospital and Brisbane Dental Hospitals. 


Dr Chu is a Senior Lecturer with the School of Medicine, University of Queensland and is intensely involved in the teaching of both medical, dental undergraduate students and surgical training of next generation of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
