Canines and difficult tooth exposure

Sometimes a tooth grows in an incorrect position and needs to be coaxed into the correct location; your surgeon will be able to correctly facilitate this in partnership with either your dentist or orthodontist. Typically this is a relatively simple procedure, where the gum is cut back and the tooth is exposed, sometimes some of the bone may need to be removed to facilitate the movement of the tooth. During this procedure a means for the tooth to be relocated is also added – typically a bracket and chain which can be used to pull the tooth into the right position.

Generally it is a short procedure, you will need to take the rest of the day off and ensure that for the next few weeks you are gentle when eating to protect the operation site.
